ABOUT BASE Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time. ABOUT THE ROLE You will own and improve the core products, systems, and experiences that drive customer acquisition, activation, and retention. Some of that work will involve improving our existing funnel and website experience. Much of it will involve building entirely new growth products and infrastructure from scratch. You will work across Growth, Engineering, Design, Operations, and Marketing to identify the highest-leverage opportunities in the customer journey and turn them into shipped products that materially improve business performance. This role sits at the intersection of product, growth, analytics, and strategy. You might redesign a critical onboarding flow, launch a self-serve enrollment experience, rethink how we qualify and route customers, build internal growth tooling, or drive entirely new strategic bets that reshape how customers join and engage with Base. A core part of the role is judgment. You will help decide where we create leverage, what friction matters, what tradeoffs are acceptable, and which problems are worth solving. We care deeply about conversion performance, but not at the expense of clarity, trust, or long-term brand quality. You'll operate in a lean environment where speed matters and ownership is high. We are not looking for someone to manage a roadmap handed to them. We are looking for someone who can identify opportunities independently, work from first principles, and drive execution across ambiguous, cross-functional problems. What You'll Do - Own and improve critical parts of Base’s acquisition, activation, and retention funnel: from first touch through long-term engagement. - Identify and execute large strategic bets that materially improve growth performance, scalability, or customer experience. - Build new growth products and systems from scratch, including self-serve flows, onboarding experiences, lifecycle products, referral systems, internal tooling, and funnel infrastructure. - Partner closely with engineering, design, analytics, operations, and growth teams to ship high-quality customer experiences quickly. - Define and improve product measurement: instrumentation, events, funnels, experimentation frameworks, attribution hygiene, and operational reporting. - Develop a deep understanding of customer behavior, operational constraints, and funnel performance to identify the highest-leverage opportunities. - Run experiments across onboarding, routing, messaging, qualification, activation, retention, and lifecycle experiences — while maintaining a coherent and trustworthy customer experience. - Contribute directly to implementation when needed, whether through lightweight front-end work, analytics tooling, product configuration, or rapid prototyping. - Help define how product and growth operate together at Base as the company scales. What You'll Bring - You’ve owned a website, funnel, or product with measurable outcomes. - Analytics fluency: you define your own events, build your own funnels, and write SQL to answer questions without waiting for a data team. - Design judgment: you can evaluate layout, hierarchy, and interaction patterns and give engineers and designers useful direction. - Ability to operate in an unstructured environment and keep work moving without process holding you up. Preferred Skills - Web / front-end application experience — you've shipped production sites or applications. - SEO fundamentals: on-page structure, technical hygiene, tooling (Semrush, Ahrefs). - Figma fluency. - Familiarity with PostHog or similar product analytics tools. - AI fluency. About This Team The Growth team sets the pace for how fast Base can deliver affordable, reliable power to the people who need it. We operate as one team across marketing, sales, support, product, and design, lean and high-ownership. Everything we build comes back to one question: are we solving people's problems We're building the world's most beloved energy company. Please note: Base is a startup, which means priorities shift and evolve quickly. Your role may expand or change based on the needs of the business at any given time, so the responsibilities listed may not be exhaustive. OUR VALUES - First Principles Thinking: Question assumptions. Principles < rules. - Operate at Base Pace: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing. - Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble, and maintain a growth mindset. - Everyone’s an Owner: Follow through on commitments and own results. - Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: Drive clarity and make calls with imperfect information. - Committed to the Mission: Rebuilding the grid is a big challenge. We work hard because we care deeply about the impact we’re creating. We work in-person. It’s not a 9-to-5. We are all-in. - Fun & Optimism Coexist with Grit: Collaboration and celebration coincide with the intensity of building real things. DO THE BEST WORK OF YOUR LIFE AT BASE.
