Job Summary

The Lamar University athletics department is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Digital Content Coordinator to support the management and maintenance of content across all 17 athletic teams’ digital platforms. The Digital Content Coordinator will ensure that all online materials, including promotions, schedules, and featured team content, are accurate, engaging, and aligned with organizational brand standards. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator with a keen eye for design and usability, possessing a working knowledge of digital media platforms and Adobe Creative Suite applications.

Essential Job Functions

  • Collaborate with internal departments, including Marketing, Ticketing, Communications, and Game Operations, to execute digital content initiatives.
  • Maintain and update content across Lamar University Athletics social media platforms.
  • Monitor performance and user engagement metrics; identify opportunities to improve content and engagement.
  • Support the creation and placement of featured team content, ticket initiatives, promotional offers, schedules, and multimedia assets on digital platforms.
  • Assist in managing digital assets (images, graphics, and video) for use across social media platforms.
  • Crosstrain across other digital marketing functions (e.g., email marketing, paid social advertising).
  • Support the execution of digital campaigns and special promotions.
    Repurpose and optimize digital graphics and other assets using Adobe Creative Suite, in alignment with Lamar University brand guidelines.
  • Monitor content across all platforms for accuracy, functionality, and fan experience.
  • Assist in managing and updating the athletics website content to ensure information is accurate, timely, and aligned with organizational branding.

Minimum and Desired Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Digital Media, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • One or more years of experience in athletics marketing.
  • Experience working within project management systems.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro)
Desired Qualifications:
  • 2 or more years of experience in athletics marketing.
  • 2 or more years of experience working within project management systems.
  • Availability to support events during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Job Conditions:
  • This role requires attending athletic events and capturing media at various campus locations.
  • The position involves working on multiple projects with tight deadlines, requiring a high level of organization and flexibility.
  • Some evening and weekend work is required.
