As a 2026 Borger Refinery Document Control Summer Intern, you will play a key role in making contributions that support our Phillips 66 Borger Refinery. The position will work under the supervision of an experienced Project Manager and network with other students participating in the Intern program. The position will provide an introduction to company practices, procedures, and safety culture.

What You’ll Do

  • Document conversion – sorting, shipping, scanning; digital verification of document conversions via computer
  • Document management – utilizing computer-aided design software to update mechanical drawings
  • Following instructions from supervisors and implementing tasks
  • Other duties assigned as needed
  • Critical skills for the position include:
    • Well organized self-starter who can operate independently and in a team environment
    • Ability to multi-task and respond quickly to change / opportunities
    • Effective communication skills and basic computer skills
    • High service level and strong work ethic

What You’ll Bring – Required

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Currently pursuing an Associate’s degree in a technical field
  • Must be willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to comply with the following:
    • Be available for a minimum of eight continuous weeks
    • Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
    • Lift and transport articles up to 50 pounds

What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred

  • Pursuing an Associate’s degree in a technical field from Amarillo College
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite products

Compensation

This position has a base hourly pay of $15.00 to $21.00.

The Borger Refinery is located in Borger, Texas, in the Texas Panhandle, approximately 50 miles north of Amarillo, Texas. Refinery facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. The refinery processes primarily medium sour crude oil produced locally, and heavy sour crude oil produced in Canada, all of which are delivered by pipeline. Borger produces a high percentage of transportation fuels, as well as petroleum coke, NGLs and solvents. Refined products are distributed to customers via pipelines from the refinery to West Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and the Midcontinent region.
