Could you be the full-time onsite Test & Commissioning Technician in Dallas, TX, US we’re looking for

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering and railway signaling expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dynamic and collaborative teammates.
You'll execute test and commissioning activities for railway signaling systems, ensuring the seamless execution of processes aligned with Alstom’s standards, regulations, and local laws. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Design, Installation, and Project Management), conduct deep troubleshooting to identify and resolve system failures, and ensure safety and compliance at every step—and much more.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Being responsible for the execution of the Installation supervision and T&C activities related to a railway signaling subsystem (e.g. IXL, ATC, DCS, ...) up to its successful completion and handover to customer or warranty.
  • Executing test activities over railway signaling systems and ensure that Test & Commissioning process is executed based on approved procedures, in a proper manner and in compliance to standards, regulations, and local laws.
  • Ensuring all required installation documentation provided by designers and instruction changes (including field modifications – FMI) are adequately recorded, reported and approved.
  • Conducting troubleshooting of wayside/railway systems and equipment to identify root cause of failures and integration issues, and identify/define containment and sustainable solutions, with support of the Test team and Engineering.
  • Ensuring that safety and EHS is enforced in all steps leading toward solutions and during execution.
  • Reporting all test and field work in a timely manner. Ensure identification of non-conformities, defects, and workmanship issues
  • Sharing findings with Installation, Test & Commissioning (ITC), and project management teams

  • Being available to work in the field, including night shifts, and for short or long missions in different locations
  • Being able to lift 40 pounds unassisted and walk quickly on uneven surfaces in full personal protection equipment (PPE).

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably electronics or embedded systems) or a Technician Degree with equivalent relevant experience,

  • Experience or understanding of Installation, Testing & Commissioning (T&C), or Verification & Validation (V&V) activities for signaling projects,

  • Knowledge of railway signaling subsystems and installation processes,

  • Familiarity with interfacing between Design, Installation, and other stakeholders,

  • Willingness to work in the field and on night shifts (incl. weekends),

  • Flexibility and availability for short or long missions in different locations and countries,

  • Having a valid driver’s license will be considered an asset.

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Work with cutting-edge railway signaling systems and innovative technologies,

  • Progress towards becoming a recognized leader in Test & Commissioning activities within the rail industry,

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning,

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, 401k).

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
