Job Title: Financial Aid Officer

Location: Goodwill North Central Texas - 4005 Campus Dr., Fort Worth, Texas

Salary: Based on Experience

Work Hours: Full Time (40 Hours/Week), Typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 8 am start time

General Job Duties: Provide one-on-one counseling to students and families regarding financial aid options, application procedures, and loan repayment plans. Review FAFSA forms, verify financial documents, and determine eligibility for grants, scholarships, and student loans. Input applicant data into CaseWorthy and financial tracking systems. Administer different student assistance programs. Develop financial aid packages, which may include a mix of loans, work-study, and grants, and communicate these awards to students. Ensure all financial aid processes follow federal, state, and institutional regulations. Handle complex cases, such as student appeals or changes in financial status, and guide students through the verification process.

Skills/Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. At least two years of financial aid experience preferred. Technical proficiency in CaseWorthy, NSLDS, and COD preferred. Ability to manage high-volume compliance while communicating complex information clearly to students in high-pressure situations.

Physical Requirements: Must have ability to sit for an extended period of time in an office environment. Must have reliable transportation. This position requires the incumbent to have communication capabilities via cell phone and/or smartphone technology.

Legal Requirements: Documentation to satisfy I-9 requirements and ability to pass drug screen and background check. Must meet staff qualifications set by Goodwill North Central Texas and any applicable state regulatory agency or accreditation body.
