    Position Purpose
    Supports the implementation of a district-wide Multi-Tier System of Support (MTSS) by utilizing the MTSS multi-tiered model in the general education setting to ensure that appropriate instruction directly addresses students\" academic and behavioral difficulties in the general education setting aligned with the districts\" Strategic Plan and Instructional Framework.


    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Coach and support elementary/secondary campus administrators and teachers at assigned campuses in the implementation of MTSS procedures, building accountability structures, and using data for continuous improvement.
    • Communicates with elementary/secondary administrators and teachers to provide knowledge and understanding of MTSS.
    • Guides and supports elementary/secondary administrators and teachers in the areas of compliance related to RTI State Statues and Federal laws (IDEA and 504) related to MTSS.
    • Helps with the identification of struggling elementary/secondary students using data-based student progress-monitoring.
    • Conducts ongoing training, technical support, and monitoring of schools\" implementation of the MTSS model and the online documentation systems.
    • Collaborates with MTSS team and District directors to provide support and staff development for administrators, teachers, and teacher assistants.
    • Develops and delivers professional learning sessions to promote teachers\" growth in MTSS.
    • Stays updated on current research and training initiatives.
    • Contributes ideas while collaborating with peers and the District\"s MTSS department.
    • Ensures fidelity of MTSS interventions and progress monitoring through accurate documentation, consistent review or Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports, and compliance with state and federal requirements.
    • Develop, maintain, and use data systems and dashboards to monitor academic, behavioral, and compliance metrics, driving decision-making at campus and district levels.
    • Align MTSS practices with the District\"s Instructional Framework, Instructional Planning Calendar (IPC), and Strategic Plan priorities to support student achievement and equity.
    • Integrate behavioral supports and restorative practices into the MTSS framework to address student needs holistically and ensure consistency of Tier 1,2, and 3 systems.

    • Skill in using qualitative and quantitative data to make decisions about teaching and learning.
    • Skill in working with initiatives that require collaboration with District and outside agencies and organizations.
    • Skill in staff development training, technical assistance, consultation and evaluation of school administrative staff, faculty, and students.
    • Skill in talking to others to convey information effectively.
    • Ability to consider academic, social, and emotional needs of students in making decisions about academic settings and accommodations for individual students.
    • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
    • Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence.
    • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
    • Ability to work effectively in collaborative teams, including teams from other departments.

    • Knowledge of PBIS, restorative practices and behavioral tiered interventions to support whole-child needs.
    • Skill in coaching campus leaders to build MTSS fidelity and accountability systems.


    Travel Requirements

    • Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.


    Physical & Mental Demands, Work Hazards

    • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals.
    • Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
    • Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
    • Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).
    • Environment: Works in an office setting; may require occasional, irregular, and/or prolonged hours.
    • Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.

    Minimum Required Qualifications

    • Education:
      • Bachelor\"s degree from accredited college or university required;
      • Master\"s degree from accredited college or university in Education or a related field preferred.
    • Certification/License: Valid Texas Teaching Certification.
    • Experience:
      • 3-5 years\" teaching in multiple grade levels (PK-12) required.
      • Experience with diverse student population, especially in a large multicultural urban district preferred.
