Job Description:
Job Summary: The RAD Technician Mammo PRN provides performs specialized diagnostic sonography procedures and technical expertise and assistance to support ancillary personnel.Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:
- Performs procedures as ordered and obtains images according to written protocols.
- Positions and immobilizes patient on exam table and observes during scan. Monitors and reviews video display of area being scanned and adjusts density or contrast to improve picture quality and distinguish audible sounds.
- Reviews and evaluates computer generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
- Screens and interviews each patient using designated MRI Patient Clinical Assessment Form.
- Organizes and accurately performs the individual steps in the sonographic procedures in the proper sequence.
- Performs and documents quality control on equipment according to manufacture guidelines or department protocols; recognizes and takes appropriate action for abnormal results. Reports equipment problems/failures to Bio-Med or Manager.
- Ensures a safe and clean environment with all the necessary supplies needed to perform studies and procedures in exam room.
- Maintains yearly competency, mandatory District education, professional certification, state licensure, and education requirements.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications: - Associates degree or equivalent from JRCERT approved school of Radiologic Technology Science.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M).
- Certified by the Texas Medical Board (TMB) as a Medical Radiologist Technologist (MRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) by first day of employment is required.
Preferred Qualifications: - 1 plus years of related sonogram work experience.
