JOB SUMMARY

The Coordinator 1 – Data & Analysis supports district-wide data strategy by designing, developing, and validating high-quality data systems, reports, and dashboards that inform instructional programs and operational decisions. This role is responsible for managing complex data processes, ensuring data accuracy and integrity, and translating stakeholder needs into actionable analytics. The Coordinator works cross-functionally to support data-driven decision-making and improve the effectiveness of instructional initiatives.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Analyze data from multiple sources (e.g., student systems, assessments, surveys, digital tools) to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
2. Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support program monitoring and decision-making.
3. Manage data preparation processes including data extraction, transformation, validation, and documentation to ensure accuracy and reliability.
4. Collaborate with program teams and stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver relevant, actionable insights.
5. Support data governance and quality assurance practices, including validation checks, standardized definitions, and documentation.
6. Monitor and evaluate program performance metrics, providing recommendations to improve outcomes and operational efficiency.

7. Troubleshoot data discrepancies and conduct root cause analysis to resolve data issues.
8. Support integration of multiple data sources into cohesive reporting structures.
9. Participate in cross-functional projects, contributing data expertise to support district initiatives.
10. Provide guidance and support to staff on data tools, reports, and best practices.
11. Stay current on data analysis tools, visualization practices, and emerging technologies.
12. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree required (Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, Business, or related field preferred).

WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence.
Experience building dashboards and working with multiple data sources required.
Experience in K-12 education or public sector preferred.

SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION

- Proficiency in data visualization tools (Power BI preferred; Tableau acceptable)
- Working knowledge of SQL and/or data transformation tools (e.g., Power Query)
- Advanced Excel skills (formulas, data manipulation, pivot tables)
- Understanding of data validation, data quality, and governance practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate data insights clearly to non-technical audiences
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

No direct supervisory responsibilities. May provide technical guidance and support to staff and contribute to project-based workstreams.

WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT

Work is moderately to substantially complex and requires independent judgment in applying analytical methods, interpreting data, and selecting appropriate tools and approaches.
Makes recommendations to support program and operational decisions.

BUDGET AUTHORITY

No budget authority.

PROBLEM SOLVING

Solves both routine and moderately complex data challenges. Identifies issues, investigates root causes, and recommends practical solutions to improve data processes and reporting.

IMPACT OF DECISIONS

Decisions impact the accuracy of reporting, effectiveness of program monitoring, and quality of data used for decision-making. Errors may result in incorrect insights or delays in reporting.

COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS

Works collaboratively with internal teams and stakeholders to clarify data needs, share findings, and support decision-making. Communicates technical information in a clear and accessible manner.

CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS
