We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Construction Manager to join our team. In this multifaceted role, you will be responsible for leading the construction and commissioning phases of AV charging station and vehicle maintenance projects, ensuring they are delivered on schedule and within budget. ### - - What You Will Do - - - - - End-to-End Project Management: - - Comprehensively manage projects from design handoff through construction completion, strictly maintaining quality, budget, and timelines. - - - Procurement & Vendor Selection: - - Conduct RFPs, answer RFIs, level-set proposals, and select general contractors for the construction of both maintenance depots and charging station projects. - - - Pre-Construction Planning: - - Complete constructability reviews and construction estimates during the design phase to ensure feasibility and cost-effectiveness. - - - Cross-Functional Collaboration: - - Partner closely with internal cross-functional teams, external consultants, and general contractors to drive efficient project execution and compliance with negotiated agreements. - - - Oversight & Compliance: - - Provide general contractor oversight and manage project budgets, ensuring strict compliance with Uber’s safety standards, local codes, and regulations. - - - On-Site Supervision: - - Conduct on-site inspections to verify work performed, proactively identifying and resolving on-site project challenges to ensure continuous progress. - - - Reporting & Onboarding: - - Track project progress and regularly report updates to internal stakeholders, including launch teams and executives. Experience in utility infrastructure, site civil, and/or facility construction. - - - Software Proficiency: - - Proficiency in PDF editing and project management software such as Bluebeam, Procore, Asana, or similar tools. - - - Construction Processes: - - Strong understanding of construction processes (RFIs, contracts, schedules, change orders), methods, and codes. For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$150,000 per year - USD$167,000 per year.
