Wellness Program & Operations Manager
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Chief Wellness Office is dedicated to enhancing workforce wellbeing through integrated programs, supportive environments, and accessible wellness resources. The Wellness Program & Operations Manager oversees wellness facility operations and leads the transformation of fitness centers into holistic wellness spaces designed to foster connection, restoration, and a positive employee experience. The Wellness Program & Operations Manager ensures the delivery of consistent, high-quality wellness services across wellness centers and satellite locations while maintaining a safe and engaging environment.

A background that reflects strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, and experience coordinating vendors or overseeing service environments is highly valued; relevant education or certifications aligned with wellness, operations, or healthcare settings are preferred.


Minimum $37.26 – Midpoint $46.63 – Maximum $55.99

Responsibilities
Wellness Program Development & Delivery
- Develop workforce wellness programming across wellness centers and satellite wellness stations
- Translate Chief Wellness Office priorities into scalable, high-quality programs
- Lead implementation of wellness initiatives across the organization
- Facilitate wellness sessions, activations, and events as needed
- Create and maintain program materials, toolkits, and standardized resources
- Monitor participation and feedback to assess effectiveness and improve offerings


Wellness Facilities Operations
- Oversee operations of wellness centers, satellite wellness stations, and wellness-related spaces
- Enhance facility experience to support transformation into holistic wellness environments
- Ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality user experiences across all locations
- Develop, implement, and audit policies, procedures, and SOPs
- Manage preventive maintenance, equipment lifecycle planning, and repairs
- Coordinate vendor training, service agreements, and operational support
- Serve as escalation point for complex operational issues and member concerns
- Prepare and present reports on facility performance, needs, and improvements


Personnel Management & Service Standards
- Establish customer service standards and operational expectations
- Manage staffing coverage, scheduling, and timekeeping processes
- Provide ongoing performance feedback, coaching, and counseling
- Ensure staff certifications and safety trainings remain current
- Foster accountability, engagement, and a high-performing team environment


Member Communication & Engagement
- Oversee member communications including newsletters, signage, and promotions
- Lead initiatives to improve engagement, participation, and retention
- Ensure messaging aligns with branding, accessibility, and communication standards
- Maintain accurate wellness information across internal and external platforms


Financial & Resource Management
- Partner with leadership to manage wellness center financials and resource planning
- Oversee vendor contracts, service agreements, and operational expenditures
- Assist with budget planning and track program-related expenses
- Reconcile expenditures in accordance with institutional requirements

EDUCATION

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree Health Education, Kinesiology, Behavioral Health, Public Health, Community Health Education, Healthcare Administration or related field.
  • Preferred: Master's Degree Health Education, Kinesiology, Behavioral Health, Public Health, Community Health Education, Healthcare Administration or related field.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Required: 5 years Program or project management, operations, service delivery, or related experience to include one year of experience with supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
  • Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate and/or LEADing Self Discover programs may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Completion of both programs can be substituted for a maximum of two years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Preferred: Experience delivering programs across multiple locations or settings, tracking and reporting program perfromance, and using data to evaluate and improve program or operational performance to include two years of experience with supervisory or managerial responsibilities.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Preferred: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within 90 Days
  • Preferred: BLS - Basic Life Support within 90 Days

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
