JOB SUMMARY:

The Benefits Specialist is responsible for the overall management of the retirement plan and leave of absence, as well as HR Policies. This includes working directly with benefit vendors, assisting employees with questions and/or concerns, and executing the associated benefit programs and processes. The Benefits Specialist will need to be able to work cross functionally with the other aspects of Benefits and HR Services and understand that customer service is our primary focus. A sense of urgency and attention to detail are necessary to meet the required deadlines.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Responsible for overall management of retirement plan including but not limited to vendor and consultant management, trend identification, benchmarking, recommendations (including cost and implications), oversight of plan administration, regulatory compliance including SOX compliance, oversight of annual match ($4.5M) and discrimination testing process, communication and education, reporting and metrics, oversight of audits and reconciliations, annual plan audits, summary plan description and plan document updates and acquisition due diligence, plan terminations and mergers.

  • Responsible for the review, trend identification, benchmarking, recommendations (including cost and implications), updates and communications of all HR Policies. Benchmarking requires collaboration with industry peers, consultants and HR Business Partners, participation in industry surveys and ability to decipher complex benchmark survey data.

  • Will also develop and administer 7-Eleven specific surveys, collect, and analyze data and prepare consolidate simplified report. Works closely with Legal to ensure Federal, State, and local law compliant and HR Technology to identify technology requirements, cost, and implications.

  • Performs periodic reviews of 7-hub to ensure current version of policies are posted. Ensures supporting forms, letters, checklists, processes, etc. are developed and maintained on 7-hub.

  • Responsible for the oversight of the development and updates to all benefits related processes and procedures.

  • Supports the HR Team with other projects as needed.

  • Works closely with legal to stay informed of changing legislation, analyze impact and cost to 7-Eleven, take the initiative to make necessary changes to ensure compliance and communicate the changes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


EDUCATION: High School/GED
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 3 years

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Strong analytical, project management and organizational skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written as well as the ability to make presentations.

  • Ability to administer multiple projects, work independently with little direction, handle confidential information and proven ability to work with all levels of the organization.

  • Proven ability to manage vendor and consultant relationships

  • Microsoft Office, required and Oracle and Workday Preferred
