The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) has broad responsibilities related to customer service, sales, and project coordination. As business professionals their primary function is to build key relationships with their ISR peers, Area Sales Managers, Operations and customers. Essentially, they are the central hub between all departments with the organization. They are responsible for executing the business processes between those groups efficiently, consistently and with clear communication The ISR is a key role for the organization that allows interaction with all aspects of the business and is a great position for anyone with experience or someone with the positive attitude willing to learn. This position extends the opportunity to learn our business within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Power Generation industries.
ISRs have duties and responsibilities in the following areas:
Customer / Account Management
The ISR supports the ASM by managing critical data in the company’s Business Management System.
The ISR’s can serve as the customer’s primary contact.
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage customer information in the company’s Business Management System
- Support customer visits onsite and offsite
- Provide updates on customer projects; serve as liaison between operations and customer for updates regarding deliveries, customer service issues, etc.
Proposal Management
The ISR is solely responsible for the generation of proposals.
The ISR coordinates and communicates the request for proposals and estimates. During the proposal
process ISR serves as liaison between customer and operations for any commercial and/or technical clarification.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for executing the proposal generation process within the Business Management
System
- Revise or create proposals based upon inspection results or other in-process workscope changes
- Ensure all proposals are reviewed per Sulzer’s internal delegation of authority and create
Margin Summary Review sheet
- Manage the storage / archiving of the proposals and related information
- The Terms and Conditions and handed to ASM and or RSM to complete the review process
Project/Commercial Management
The ISR is responsible for facilitating the completion of projects from the point of purchase order receipt to final invoice approval.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the receipt, review and processing of all purchase orders associated with their
assigned ASM’s and business units
- Manage the release of all project scopes and project hand-offs to the operations group(s)
- Coordinate and manage as needed the resolution of project issues, questions, and concerns
- Facilitate communications between the customer, ASM and operations group
- Perform invoice review and proforma approval
- Participate in appropriate meetings such as production and scheduling meetings to facilitate decision-making on backlogs and priorities.
- Reviewing and processing summary technical reports for accuracy on completed client projects.
Quality / Continuous Improvement
The ISR is responsible for supporting the companies Quality / Lean initiatives to improve and add
value to our customer’s experience
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain skills and procedures required for the generation of the highest quality proposals
- Support operations quality improvements
QESH (Quality, Environmental, Safety and Health)

Responsibilities:
- Takes personal responsibility for their own, and co-worker’s safety
- Identify problems and areas of improvement and notify management accordingly
- Ensure customer visitors have received the required safety induction, are properly signed in and have the required PPE while on shop visits
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (Mechanical Engineering / Engineering Technology) and/or Previous experience and/or technical proficiency in the turbo machinery industry to include knowledge of steam and gas turbines, centrifugal, axial and process screw compressors, expanders, and other associated high-speed rotating equipment such as generators, pumps, gearboxes etc.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) oral and written skills
- Proficient use of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with personnel from diverse backgrounds at all levels of the organization
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Time management skills
- Understanding of basic financial concepts
