At AutoNation, delivering exceptional service to our customers and key partners is our top priority. We are seeking a Paid Intern – Automotive Technician Specialist, with the potential for full-time hire, to join our team onsite in San Antonio, TX.

This role offers a hands-on opportunity to work with our Autonomous Vehicle Partner in a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. The internship will run from mid-June through November 2026, with the potential to go longer, providing valuable experience alongside industry professionals in an innovative and fast-paced setting.

The Automotive Technician Specialist will be dedicated to a specialized project involving autonomous vehicles, fostering customer loyalty by building trust and ensuring confidence in AutoNation as a trusted provider of vehicle safety and reliability.

What are the requirements for this job

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Prior experience as an express/quick lube technician preferred.
  • Skills: Proficiency with hand tools and strong attention to detail.
  • Process Adherence: Ability to follow established procedures to ensure quality and safety.
  • Licensing: Must have a valid in-state driver’s license with a clean and safe driving record.
  • Compensation: Pay ranges from $22.00 - $25.00 per hour, based on experience.
  • Schedule: Must be available to work Monday – Friday, with shifts from 8:00am to 4:30pm.

What are the day-to-day responsibilities

  • On-the-job training will be provided in the first week of employment.
  • Performing vehicle work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with customer standards.
  • Communicating with Service Manager and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication
