Responsibilities Responsibilities H-E-B is seeking a Senior Payments Business Systems Analyst to support and enhance our Payment Acceptance ecosystem across in-store and digital channels. This role partners closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure reliable, optimized, and compliant payment processing. As a Senior Payments Business Systems Analyst, you will: Serve as a subject matter expert in H-E-B’s end-to-end payment processing flow, including authorization, routing, settlement, and exception handling Act as a primary liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, and payment vendors (e.g., processors, gateways, and networks) Manage ongoing vendor engagement, including operational coordination, issue resolution, and escalation management Build and execute deployment plans for payment initiatives, including new tender rollouts, configuration updates, and processor changes Configure and maintain payment processing settings within vendor systems, including routing logic, BIN tables, tender enablement, and network prioritization Partner with vendors and internal teams to troubleshoot transaction issues and anomalies, performing root cause analysis across systems Gather, document, and translate business and technical requirements into actionable specifications Support testing and certification efforts (SIT, UAT, network certification) to validate payment functionality and edge cases Ensure alignment with network mandates, regulatory requirements, and internal compliance standards Develop and maintain documentation of payment flows, configurations, and vendor integrations for operational and audit purposes Identify opportunities to improve payment performance, resiliency, cost optimization, and customer experience Qualifications Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role Experience working with payment systems, processors, or financial transaction platforms preferred Skills & Competencies: Strong understanding of the payment processing lifecycle and ecosystem Experience managing external vendor relationships and dependencies Ability to analyze and document complex system flows and configurations Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy Experience supporting system implementations and deployments Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to business stakeholders Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment Preferred Qualifications Experience with payment processors, gateways, or retail POS systems Familiarity with Visa, Mastercard, PIN debit networks, and EBT processing Exposure to transaction routing strategies or interchange optimization concepts What Sets This Role Apart Direct ownership of payment acceptance capabilities impacting millions of transactions High visibility across internal leadership and strategic vendor partners Opportunity to build deep expertise in payment architecture and transaction processing Ability to influence cost optimization, resiliency, and customer experience within a critical enterprise function Work Environment In-office work environment with collaboration across business, IT, and vendor partners Occasional after-hours support for critical payment deployments or incidents
