We seek a dynamic and student-centered educator dedicated to excellence in teaching in Animal Science. The successful candidate will contribute to the instructional mission of a growing and vibrant department serving students across agricultural disciplines, including pre-veterinary, animal science, and agricultural education tracks. Primary responsibilities include: Teaching undergraduate courses in animal science (e.g., basic animal science, animal nutrition, anatomy and physiology, reproduction, genetics, or livestock production systems, depending on expertise and departmental need). Coordinating and delivering laboratory sections at university-operated facilities, including live-animal instruction where appropriate. Advising and mentoring undergraduate students. Participating in service activities at the department, college, and university levels, with an emphasis on activities that facilitate experiences for students. The teaching load is 4/4 (100%), with expectations for high-impact teaching practices, student engagement, and continuous instructional improvement. Required Qualifications Earned PhD. in Animal Science or closely related field (ABD considered; degree must be completed by start date). Demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Ability to teach across core animal science disciplines. Demonstrated experience mentoring others. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching at the college level as the instructor of record. Experience with experiential or field-based instruction. Familiarity with regional livestock production systems relevant. Evidence of student mentorship and engagement.
