8:00am &- 5:00pm
$17.24 per hour
Summary
Provides administrative and technical support for the Development Services Department. Assists the public with permits and licenses, supports building inspection scheduling, maintains records, processes fees, and prepares routine reports. Occasional evening meetings required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Issue and review permits for accuracy and code compliance
- Assist customers, answer inquiries, and manage appointments
- Maintain files, records, and reports (daily/weekly/monthly)
- Process payments and document fees
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and data tables
- Coordinate with other departments and support staff functions
- Handle complaints and ensure high-quality customer service
- Assist with special projects and continuous process improvements
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma (or equivalent) 2 years administrative/clerical experience
- Knowledge of office procedures, basic math, and customer service practices
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid Texas driver’s license.
- ICC Permit Technician Certification (or obtain within 12 months)
- Bilingual preferred
